Thanks for joining us and welcome to the first ever blog post from The Henry B! We decided to create this blog to keep northwest San Antonio apartments residents engaged by sharing bi-monthly posts with you. Every few weeks, we’ll share tips about life in San Antonio, advice about living in an apartment, and so much more! We’re so happy to have you along for the ride.

For this first blog post, we wanted to share with you a few day trip ideas. There’s so much to do within an hour and a half from here and we want to ensure you’re in the know! These trips are perfect if you have guests visiting or are just looking for a weekend activity to do with your friends.

Ready to see what we pulled together for you? Let’s get to it! Oh, and when you finish reading through this week’s blog post, we encourage you to send the link to this page to your friends and neighbors at your community of apartments in 78230.

Fredricksburg is the ultimate day trip. This quaint town is known for its German heritage and wineries. In fact, you could easily spend two days here and just barely scrape the surface of all this town has to offer.

Stroll down the main street of Fredricksburg and pop into one of the many antique and local artisan shops. There are also a few museums here that you can check out. Plan ahead to coordinate a wine tour and taste your way through several Texas Hill Country wineries.

The bbq around northwest San Antonio apartments is good, but it’s nothing compared to what you’ll find in Lockhart. Many see the trek here as a rite of passage and it’s totally worth it. Test your appetite by seeing how many of the iconic spots here you can try in a visit. The big four are Kruez Market, Smitty’s, Black’s Barbeque, and Chisholm Trail BBQ. We’ll let you be the judge of who has the best brisket. Remember, a little bit goes a long way here!

Jump onto I-35 for a day trip to Austin. Even though San Antonio is bigger than the Live Music Capital of the World, sometimes it’s nice to just wander around somewhere new. There are so many things to do that you can make several trips and never repeat the same activity!

Check out Barton Springs and the Barton Creek Greenbelt for your nature intake and follow it up by catching a show. Lady Bird Lake is also a great spot to kayak and enjoy cityscape views.
